Where Did The Termites Come From

I listed a home in one of our rural areas, when the buyer had it inspected they did a termite inspection. The inspection revealed that there were termites in the home. The seller said they had the home inspected when they bought it and there were not signs of termites at that time. Well, here's what happen. The owner had finished the basement and had installed a wood-burning stove. Him and some of his friends had gone up in the mountains to an area where they could cut down trees and take them for firewood. Well, to make a long story short, the wood they brought home had termites in it. They stacked the wood in the garage next to the interior wall of the home. The little guys just went from the wood to the house and that's how they got into the home. The reason I'm telling you this is so that if you buy wood from any source, you should never store it next to the house interior walls.
